Food Station Visited by Yogyakarta TPID for Comparative Study

Yogyakarta Inflation Controlling Team (TPID) conducted comparative study to PT. Food Station Tjipinang Jaya (FSTJ) on Monday (5/13).

Our job is to fulfill rice demand in Jakarta

In this visit, Yogyakarta TPID wanted to learn about PT. FSTJ's roles in managing and controlling inflation in Jakarta.

FSTJ Distributes Five Containers of Garlic to Jakgrosir

PT. FSTJ's Finance Director, Thomas Hadinata stated that FSTJ is one of the Jakarta's Regional-Owned Enterprises (BUMD) and member of Jakarta TPID. According to him, FSTJ helps to ensure rice stock in Jakarta by signing farming and trading contracts with other regions to supply rice for Jakarta.

"Our job is to fulfill rice demand in Jakarta. Besides, we also maintain stability of rice supply, stock, and price," he said.

In order to suppress inflation, he added, Jakarta TPID is also supported by other BUMDs in food sector such as PD. Dharma Jaya that acts as supplier and Perumda Pasar Jaya as distributor.

Meanwhile, Yogyakarta Secretary's Economic and Natural Resources (SDA) Administration Bureau Head, Ni Made Dwi P. Indrayanti mentioned that her side also wanted to know about FSTJ's food distribution management.

"We are also interested to learn how FSTJ can control inflation in Jakarta," she added.
